Subject: BPQ with KPC-9612?
To: ham-digital@ucsd.edu
Hello Bob. I have run the KPC-9612 with BPQ - dual port. One important
difference from the KPC-3 is the fact that the KPC-9612 is dual port. Check
the MYDROP command - default is 0/1 which means the 1200 port has a KISS
address of 0 and the 9600 port is KISS address 1.
In BPQCFG.TXT, you'll need to set the CHANNEL= statement to A for 1200, and
to B for 9600 (e.g. CHANNEL=A). The IOADDR and INTLEVEL should be set for
the correct COM port you're using. Remember, you'll need TWO PORT configs
in the BPQCFG, both with the same IOADDR and INTLEVEL. Also, the SPEED=
needs to be set to the same as the MODE command in the KPC-9612.
Hope that helps.

(I apologize in advance if readers feel that their newsgroup was not
appropriate for this post. I picked the closest three I could find;
feel free to email me if you think I should add or delete a newsgroup
name from the newsgroup's line. (one companies name showed up in GPS
world (hence sci.geo.satellite-nav)).
I would like to know the names and addresses (or phone numbers) of all
companies that are planning low earth orbit communications systems.
The following incomplete list has the ones I am familiar with so far,
if anyone knows of any others please email me and I'll post an update
later. Thank you.
Little LEO (data only) Project Name
---------------------- ------------
Orbital Communication Corp. ORBCOMM
Fairfax, Va.
Starsys Inc. Starnet
Lanham, Maryland
Big LEO (voice and data)
------------------------
Motorola Inc. Irridium

TRW Inc. (This system is more medium earth orbit) Odyssey
Redondo Beach, California
Loral/Qualcomm Globalstar

Hi all Amicom users,
I have just received the new drivers for Kiss and Host which fix some
bugs in the DAMA drivers. I'll upload them ASAP, that is in a month since
I'm going on holidays now. (upload to Aminet of course in the misc/sci
directory...)

Jeff, you can order the #190-PCB baycom modem for $12.95, this circuit uses
the AM 7910 chip, if this is the one you have.
Their FAX number is 714-952-3280, they are located in Anaheim(CA) is memory
serves me.
The board is roughly of the business card size and works both 300 HF and
1200 VHF (see advert. in CQ magazine).
Enjoy,

TAPR.ORG on the Move
--------------------
Things are on the change again with the TAPR.ORG server. We are
relocating the Internet server to a more permanent location, which has
full Internet access. This will allow for the various TAPR
informations feeds to be located on one system again.
The new server is using ListProcessor 6.0. This system supports both
mail lists and an e-mail file request system. The server can be reached
by sending mail to 'listserv@tapr.org'.
Here is a brief list of basic requests:

>Has anyone got experience with this?
No direct experience, but from a programming standpoint I would guess that
the WS_FTP is expecting a very fast reply (which over phone lines is fine)
but it's timeout threshold is much too fast for radio-based work. You
might want to check the program for a parameter to update or contact
the author.
I just checked my WS_FTP -- Play with the timeout value in the
ADVANCED menu of the session settings. Perhaps that will do the
trick. Let me know!

What difference is this? I sorry I am at a loss as to what difference this
makes? I thought that all 9600 baud was created equal?
Thank you!
